2D Work - Photoshop - Final Scene Intro

These are two metal doors made in photoshop that I will use for the opening and outgoing animation for my final animation. These were done in about half an hour and I used reference to make the metallic studded surface look more realistic.

3D Work - Maya - Factory Final Render/Artwork

This is my factory render, I couldn't fit the lighting test into the cross reference so bought the full picture. Wireframe, untextured and textured cross reference.

3D Work - Maya - Flu Final Render/Artwork

 I took a note from Charlie's book and used the cross section idea to showcase my flu cell. This has the wireframe, UV Textures and lighting for the model. I am very proud of my creation. :)

3D Work - Maya - Flu Cell Final Animation

My final animated flu cell, fully textured with working joints and groupings. I am pretty happy with him :).

3D Animation - Maya - Flu Cell Joints

These are some videos of the joints I made for my Flu Cell, the joints were essentially to allow the two semi-sphere sides of the cell to move in on each other. It was not especially difficult but it went wrong several times and required some tweaking. Special thanks to Simon for helping out with the NURBS controls.

There is also a wireframe model for showing the joints while in action.

2D Work - Factory UV Texture

This is my UV texture for my factory, it features the handwritten Cell on the side and also has some striped paint for the door for where the flu cells enter into the factory.

I was a little inspired by the style of Team Fortress 2 textures from the game sets.

3D Work - Maya - Factory Machines

These are some pictures of the models of the machines that I will used in my factory. These are meant to be simple representations of the different parts of the cell.

The battery is obviously meant to signify the nucleus, while the strange tub like structures are the Golgi apparatus and the conveyor belt will be the Ribosomes, the Ribosome model is not yet finished. These will have some small animations on them.

Fantastic Voyage - 3D Work - Flu Cell

These are just a few pictures of my flu cell's 3D model, this model includes working rigs for the small flaps on the interior of the cell. I have yet to make the sides move in and out successfully for the cell.

I am not entirerly certain that I have done everything right, Maya likes to have a lot of specific settings and options.

I will UV texture the main body but will probably put some simple colour shaders on the flaps on the interior part of the body. Not a bad start I'd say, making the flap joints wasn't too difficult, hopefully neither will the rest be.

So this was the bouncing ball with rotation, not too difficult, more difficult was anticipating how the ball would land or react on the floor. A good example of how learning about physics in real life.

3D Animation - Maya - Eyes Tutorial

The eyes tutorial, this was a little tricky, particularly the use of drivers, I still need to get the hang of that. The connections between rotates and NURBS control was also complex. I'm getting better at playblasting, I'm starting to learn how to make them look more polished. 

A time consuming tutorial but a useful one.

3D Animation - Maya - Spine Tutorial

This was the Spine part of the rigging tutorial. Pretty easy to get through, also managed to learn quite a bit about how to stack NURBS controls. That will be very useful for more complex rigs and models. Might need to refer back to it to get the grip of it again some time.

This was the leg piston tutorial, this was much easier and cleaner (minimal errors or backtracks). It also introduced how to parent objects with joints. Very useful.

3D Animation - Maya - Leg Joints

This is the tutorial for the legs and leg joints. It was both time and patience consuming but a lot of very useful information and ideas was gleaned from it. In truth the animation is slightly unfinished with some of the values of the leg joints slightly skew wiff.
